Wildcats pick up four more Big Sky qualifiers

WALNUT, Calif. The Weber State men's and women's track programs picked up four more Big Sky qualifying marks this past weekend. A handful of athletes participated in Southern California while the rest of the team competed in the Mark Faldmo Invitational in Logan. lt;br />"We had a lot of good things go well this weekend," Director of track and field Dan Walker. "We had a lot of people improve this weekend and I am enthusiastic about what is happening. It is the time of the year when you start to see drastic changes and that happened at the meets we competed in. We have a few more meets until conference and are continuing to improve every week." lt;br /> lt;br />Mt. Sac Relays lt;br />On Thursday night, Hailey Whetten ran the eighth-fastest 10,00 meters in school history with her time of 35:23.44. She finished fourth in her heat. Also on Thursday, Tip Worob ran a personal-best time of 9:15.47 in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. lt;br />On Friday, Tony Osheku took third in his heat of the 200-meter dash in a time of 21.56. Tawnie Moore finished sixth in her heat of the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 14.45. Emily Morgan finished second in her heat of the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.05. Katherine Wishmeyer placed seventh in her heat of the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.28. lt;br />Trevor Ricks took 11th in his heat of the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a seasonal-best time of 8:51.47. Ellie Child ran the ninth-fastest 5,000 meters in school history as she placed ninth in her heat with a time of 16:45.18. lt;br /> lt;br />Brian Clay Invitational lt;br />Jazmin Porter and Natasha Powell both took part in the hammer throw on Thursday evening at Cerritos College. Powell finished 10th with her mark of 167-00.00, while Porter finished 15th with a mark of 158-11.00. Porter also finished eighth in the shot put with a mark of 44-08.75 and 10th in the discus in a mark of 153-08.00. lt;br />On Friday, Jamie Stokes ran a seasonal-best time of 4:27.26 in the
