Women's cross country enters season ranked #28

OGDEN, Utah - The three-time defending champions Weber State women's cross country will toe the line for the first time this season at the Utah Murray Invite in Murray, Utah. lt;br /> lt;br />The men's team will also be there to compete as well, as they look to build on a solid season from a year ago with the return of a handful runners that have returned from serving LDS missions. lt;br /> lt;br />The women's team who is ranked #28 in the pre-season USTFCCCA poll will be lead by junior Jamie Stokes. Stokes is coming off a track season which saw her qualify for the NCAA West Preliminary Round in the 1,500 meters. She will hope to build off her All-Conference honors from a year which saw her take 6th overall. lt;br /> lt;br />The team will be boosted by the strong recruiting class that was brought in which is headlined by Taylor Cox, Paige Dilmore, and Kim Holiday. With the loss of Summer Harper, reigninng Big Sky champion, this team will rely on youth more than it has on the past. lt;br /> lt;br />"It is great that we were ranked that high because it shows that we have a good program," Head women's and men's coach Paul Pilkington said, "We will probably have a few freshman in our top five but it just depends on how they come around. We should be one of the top 30 teams in the nation by the end of the season. We aren't there right now but we also race better at the end of the season." lt;br /> lt;br />The men's team will be lead by a four-headed attack as the return of senior Mike Hardy will greatly boost the Wildcats chances of competing for a Big Sky titile. Hardy, who redshirted last season will join the likes of senior Trevor Ricks, junior Tip Worob, and senior Tyler Robinson. lt;br /> lt;br />Last season, both Worob and Ricks earned All-Conference honors by placing 8th and 10th respectively. But the team will be boosted by the return of some runners who ran well before leaving on their missions. lt;br /> lt;br />"The men's team is going to be good ," said Pilkington "Ou
