Wildcats head to UVU Collegiate InvitePublished by
OGDEN, Utah The Weber State men's and women's track and field program will head to the UVU Collegiate Invite on Friday for their second meet of the season. The Wildcats picked up nine qualifiers last weekend and will look to get more against some of the best competition in the state.
lt;br />"We want to continue to improve on what we started to do last week," Director of track and field Dan Walker said. "We had some good marks but a lot of them were an indication that we had just started our outdoor training. We expect to get better meet after meet."
lt;br />The meet will start on Friday with field events at 8:30 a.m. and track events at 12 p.m.

lt;br />10K For Everyone
lt;br />Preston Johnson won his debut in the 10,000 meters at the UNLV Spring Classic narrowly beating out teammate Tip Worob. Johnon's time of 30;45.53 is the fastest time ran in the Big Sky Conference so far this year.
lt;br />Worob and Mike Hardy both ran under the conference qualifying mark of 31:00.00 as they placed second and third respectively.

lt;br />STOKES IS ON FIRE
lt;br />Another race, another personal best for Jamie Stokes. The junior from Ogden, Utah took second in the 800-meters in a time of 2:10.94. That was nearly a second faster than she had previously ran and qualifies her for the conference meet in that event.
lt;br />The other qualifier on the women's team was Ellie Child in the 3,000 meters steeplechase. She won the event in a personal-best time of 10:46.23.

lt;br />RICKS WITH A NICE DOUBLE
lt;br />Trevor Ricks, a senior from Alpine, Wyo., won the 1,500 meters and took third in the 800-meters at the UNLV Spring Classic. His time of 3:52.97 in the 1,500 meters was a half second off his personal-best and currently places him third in the conference. He ran a personal-best in the 800-meters in a time of 1:52.97,which qualifies him for the conference meet. Read the full article at: www.weberstatesports.com
